Hitler’s paratroopers were a key part of Germany’s Luftwaffe, and the division served in both air drop operations and ground maneuvers. This program chronicles the formation of The Green Devils in the early 1930s, their role in Operation Weserubung (the westward invasion of Denmark and Norway) and their triumphant Operation Merkur when they invaded Crete in 1941. Archival footage helps tell the story of this unique division of the Luftwaffe.
